Several years ago, I began manufacturing Mosquito Houses. These were small bird-like houses, designed to be affixed to wires and to be placed in house plants as a novelty and a conversation piece.
Many recipients receiving these novelties were at a loss as to how to attract and care for inhabitants of these attractive little houses. Most were not accustomed to the prolific growth of these dipterous, subfamily of fragile insects, and had no knowledge of how to keep them well and happy.
It became necessary to create an owner’s manual to be supplied with each house given to our friends and relatives on special occasions. Carefully following the manual would assure that the cute little boogers will lead a long and healthy existence in and around their homes. It may also just spark a few radicals into protesting any Government programs contrived to eradicate these critters.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CARE AND FEEDING OF MOSQUITO’S
Eggs must be kept warm until hatched. Afterward the young must be fed at least twice each day. To accomplish this, simply place an arm in close proximity to the entrance of the house and allow these young insects full access to exposed skin. When sated, the insects will return to the house and continue breeding until their number is sufficient to populate the entire state.
Your friends and neighbors will be taken a-back and stand in awe and admiration of you for introducing a healthy strain of Southern Mosquito’s into the states of Indiana, Ohio, New York, or other locations which heretofore have been devoid of the cute little fellows.
You also may wish to include in your personal effects, a jar of Southern heat and humidity. If not used to impress your friends, a quick whiff of the contents of the jar will undoubtedly provoke memories of a visit to the land of Sand Spurs, Mosquito’s, Red Necks and ‘Possums.
Hopefully, the memories will be pleasant.
